Alexandria Kominsky is the founder of AKA, a boutique literary agency dedicated to developing distinctive voices and building enduring author careers. She works closely with writers, creators, and cultural voices to shape compelling narratives and position projects for the right publishing partners and audiences.

Prior to launching AKA, she served as Head of Business Development at House of Story and as an agent at Dupree/Miller & Associates, where she collaborated on publishing projects with authors including Cicely Tyson, Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt, Jeezy, Kevin Nealon, 2 Chainz, and Jeremiah Brent.

Known for her hands-on editorial approach, she works closely with clients to refine manuscripts, expand platforms, and develop cohesive publishing strategies designed for long-term cultural impact.

Outside of work, she spends her time reading, exploring art and film, practicing yoga and meditation, and taking long walks with her Scottish terrier, Elsa.

How to Submit

Alexandria accepts queries on a rolling basis. Please read the guidelines carefully before submitting — a thoughtful query goes a long way.

Query Letter

Send a one-page query letter that includes a a 2–4 sentence book pitch, your target audience, comparable titles, and a short author bio. Tell us why you're querying Alexandria specifically.

Synopsis

Include a one-to-two page synopsis that covers the full arc of your narrative, including the ending. For nonfiction, include a chapter outline and an overview of your platform and credentials.

Wait & Hear Back

Alexandria aims to respond to all queries within six weeks. If you haven't heard back, feel free to send a brief follow-up. Simultaneous submissions are fine — just let us know promptly if your work is offered representation elsewhere.
